>Winter Wonderland

>
Jon O called last night and wanted to ski the pass.  When the avy site says skiers are setting off slides on approach, I turn cautious!  I suggested the ‘backside’ of Kelly Mt, and Jon, having never skied back there, agreed.

We found a winter wonderland!!!  Deep new powder, snow-wrapped trees and no tracks ahead of us!!
We bumped into Dean and Heather (yes…. Heather putting on ski gear but turning blue from the cold!) in the Kelly lower lot.  They know you make turns while the snow flies!!!
Traversing across we bumped a muley buck who bounded away in the aspens and found the most pristine winter wonderland all around us.  The powder turns on Tele Hill were sublime; so much so we took three laps!  We skinned back up on the last lap with Eric L after he floated past us with a non-stop grin!
Merry Christmas one and all!!

  1. >We thought about meeting up with you and Jon, but we had limited time. We also found really good snow and got two runs in before heading out.Dispite the cold start, Heather skied beautifully; making a flawless second run!! It was deep and steep. She was grinning ear to ear! Believe it or not, i was the one who had to pull the plug. If it were up to her, she would have tracked up the whole slope then moved on to meet up with you guys!Great seeing you up there. Next time we’ll tag along.
