>Stouts Mountain’s Northside

Andy, his dog Cal, Alex and I skinned onto the north side of Stouts to frolic after we heard that the groundhog saw his shadow and winter will be six weeks longer!
Some other group got after it up there within the last few days; their tracks are all over the place.  Looks like they had a great time, skiing multiple lines and leaving us a great skin track up.  We did appreciate it.
Even with stale snow and warming from sunlight and inversions, we found nice powder near the trees, and on the north facing aspects.
We skied the first run from just west of the summit and skied the best stash, about 11-1200 feet, a couple of times.
Gotta love the sunshine!

  1. >Man, that place looks like Teton Pass… all skied up! Cool to see Stouts on the radar for dedicated b/c folks. In my opinion, it’s one of the better peaks in our neck of the woods. Lots of terrain, aspects, and angles to ski! I missed out today, but the season is far from over! I will get revenge!Oh yes i will…
