Matt T graciously accepted my invitation to head to the Lemhis to check out the snow conditions. I know he was looking at me askance as we skinned in on about 4-8″ of snow but his mood seemed to improve when we crossed a north trending ridge at about 8600′ and the snow quickly deepened to over 2′. Of course it was loose sugar snow and it made skinning up the steeps even tougher. Little did he suspect how hard he would have to work to get to the “good stuff”!
But, he was a great sport and we got about 1300′ vertical of “powder-like” sugar snow turns for our efforts. As an added bonus, we get to light up the ol’ ptex candle and repair our ski bottoms once again!
